How it works

Two ways in.

You can shop here, sell here, or both. Here’s how each side works.

For buyers

How buying works.

  1. 01
    Browse

New items and previously loved gear, side by side. The full range of what the early years need — prams, car seats, cots, carriers, highchairs, bouncers, toys. Everything in the store has been looked at before it lists.

  2. 02
    Read the listing

The grade is on every listing. So is a written account of the condition — marks, wear, anything worth knowing. Photos show the item as it is. If something isn’t clear, ask before you buy and we’ll answer properly.

  3. 03
    Buy online or come in

Checkout is online. If you’re in Auckland and want to see something before you commit, you’re welcome to come in. Let us know for bigger items so we can have it ready.

  4. 04
    Receive or collect

Most things can be posted anywhere in New Zealand. For larger gear — prams, cots, anything bulky — pickup or local delivery is usually the better option. Auckland pickup is free. Shipping availability and cost show at checkout.

  5. 05
    If something’s not right

If it arrives and it’s not what the listing said, tell us. We take our descriptions seriously. If we got something wrong, we’ll fix it.

Condition grades

Every item graded before it lists.

Three grades, applied consistently across everything in the store. New or preloved, the same criteria. The grade sets the description and the price. The full detail is in the condition guide.

Read the condition guide
Kept As New

Used once or twice. No marks, no wear. Everything original included.

Kept With Care

Gently used. Any marks minor and noted. Functions perfectly.

Well Kept

Visibly loved, structurally sound. Wear described in full. Priced honestly.

For consignors

How consigning works.

  1. 01
Have a look at what you have

We take prams, car seats, cots, bassinets, carriers, highchairs, bouncers, monitors, toys, and most other baby gear. Reasonably clean and complete. If you’re not sure whether something is worth bringing in, message us first and we’ll be straight with you before you make the trip.

  2. 02
    Drop it off

Bring things in during opening hours. For large items like prams or cots, let us know you’re coming so we can have space ready. For everything else, just show up.

  3. 03
    We look at it properly

Not from photos, not from a quick once-over. We check the fabric, the frame, the mechanical parts, the safety hardware. One to two business days. Anything that doesn’t pass comes back to you with an explanation.

  4. 04
We put a number on it

We look at the grade, the brand, and what things are actually selling for right now. Then we suggest a price. We’d rather it sell than sit.

  5. 05
    You say yes

Nothing lists until you’ve agreed to it. We’ll send you the grade and the price. Accept it, push back, or talk it over. We’re not putting your things up without your sign-off.

  6. 06
    It goes live

We photograph the item, write the listing, and publish it. You don’t need to provide photos or a description. The listing includes the grade, a full condition write-up, and honest photos.

  7. 07
    It sells

A buyer finds it and purchases it. We handle the payment, the communication, and the handover. Nothing else is needed from you once it’s been dropped off.

  8. 08
    You get paid

Your cut goes straight to your bank. You’ll get a message when it’s on its way. No cash, no vouchers, no coming in to collect it.

Safety-critical items

Some things get more scrutiny.

The condition grades apply to everything. But certain categories carry safety implications that go beyond wear and function, and those get a closer look.

Car seats

We check the manufacture date and confirm the seat hasn’t reached expiry. We don’t accept seats that have been in an accident — minor ones included. The shell, harness, and buckle are assessed separately. Manufacture date and expiry appear on every car seat listing.

Sleep surfaces

Cots and bassinets are checked against current safe sleep standards. Drop-side cots are not accepted. Mattresses are only accepted when they come with the original product and are in genuinely clean condition.

Soft carriers & wraps

Stitching at all load points is checked carefully. Ring and buckle condition is assessed. Fabric is inspected for thinning or stress marks in the places that matter. Items from uncertified brands may not be accepted regardless of how they look.

Recalls

Every item is checked against current ACCC and New Zealand product safety recall lists before it lists. Items under active recall are not stocked.

The payout

How the money works.

Your split is confirmed at drop-off, before anything lists. It’s based on the item and the price. You know what you’ll receive before you commit.

When something sells, your share goes into the next payout run. Directly to your bank. You’ll hear from us when it’s on the way.

If something hasn’t sold after the consignment period, we’ll be in touch. Collect it, try a price adjustment, or leave it a bit longer. Nothing happens to your item without your say.

Split agreed At drop-off, before anything lists
Payment method Direct bank transfer
Payout timing Regular cycle after each sale
Unsold items Returned to you on request
